I wanted to speak the beautiful language of my century.
 
Directly pulling inspiration from the infamous Situationist International artist book, we’ve decided to release a batch of the remaining Murmur LPs with non-removable sandpaper covers.
 
The original intention of Mémoires’ auto-destructive cover was to mark the hands and surroundings of those who shared the values of its authors. Murmur, as a concept, has existed for half a decade; we’re continually grateful that people still find connection and enjoyment to this album daily, as we’ve become so far removed from the period in which it was conceived. These covers represent it’s permanence, they’re meant to destroy your belongings, to provide discomfort, and as both Jorn and Debord intended, to signify those whose connection to this album outweighs the irreversibly destructive nature of its existence; in our own perverse way, it’s a thank you.

Taking cues from the masochistic volume of bands like My Bloody Valentine or Swans, Doused weaves hypnagogic whispers into a wall of lush guitars played loud enough to drown out jet engines. Their music melds together the members' love of shoegaze acts of the last few decades, the new wave / post-punk scene of the 80s, and everything that falls in between. Formed in 2017, Doused began as the slow burn recording project of bored college students in Philadelphia before eventually transitioning into a full-fledged band with a constantly rotating lineup. Their first release, 2017’s demo tape, Fixed on Innocence, floated around on the internet for months before any of those songs would ever truly be played by a live band.Currently consisting of Vincent Duong, Emma Hansson, & Mike Wolfe, Doused has been carefully crafting their debut LP in between finishing school, navigating full-time jobs, and staying ahead of a global pandemic.
